    About Us

    Club History

The Rotary Club of Clayton Valley / Concord Sunrise was chartered in June of 1987. There was a need for a Rotary club in the Clayton Valley – Ygnacio Valley Road corridor and members of Concord’s other Rotary clubs – Concord Diablo and Concord helped with the establishment of our club. We began meeting for breakfast in the Concord Bowl; the moved to The Heritage Inn and for the past 10 years we have been meeting at Oakhurst Country Club in Clayton.

Now in our 34th year, we number 50 members and are actively involved in service to our local community and our world. You will find us sorting food at the Contra Costa Solano Food Bank every Tuesday morning. Every Christmas season we ring the bell at Salvation Army Red Kettle locations . Members regularly travel to San Felipe, Mexico to support the work of our twin club there – building an orphanage, maintaining and upgrading a school for disabled children and providing schlarships that allow less fortunate children to attend. We are currently involved in adopting a small village in Uganda to provide health, education and agriculture to the area.

Our membership is comprised of men and women who are bankers, accountants, morticians, insurance agents, realtors, opticians, architects, contractors, dentists, plumbers and lawyers, to name a few. Some of us are retired from business but still feel the desire to serve others.

We live the Rotary motto – “Service Above Self” – every day. Join us at 7:00 a.m. every Thursday for breakfast, fellowship and to hear speakers on varying timely topics.
