    About Us

Carondelet is a four-year college-preparatory Catholic high school serving young women of Contra Costa County. The student population of about 800 provides a rich diversity reflecting the cultural, ethnic and socio-economic realities of the East Bay. More than $1 million in financial aid is awarded to students each year.

Carondelet's mission is to inspire excellence by preparing young women to live with heart, faith and courage in the Catholic tradition and the spirit of the Sisters of St. Joseph.

Since its founding in 1965 by the Sisters of St. Joseph, Carondelet has carried on a proud tradition of Christian community and academic excellence. Students are offered a full college-preparatory curriculum. Our focus is a single-sex, comprehensive educational program designed to prepare women for leadership and service. On the junior and senior level, Carondelet and De La Salle, an adjacent Catholic boys' school, combine course offerings as well as a variety of collaborative social opportunities such as dances and immersion trips.

Co-curricular offerings include honor societies, a broad range of interscholastic and highly competitive sports teams, multicultural club, music, peer tutoring, speech and debate, student government and other leadership opportunities, yearbook, campus ministry, drama, and community service. Over 90% of our seniors are involved in voluntary community service. 100% of our students attend college.
