Dawn Kosmakos is a professional genetic genealogist based in the Bay Area, where she lives with her software engineer husband and two college-age sons. Her passion for genetic genealogy began in 2016, when she solved the mystery of her own unknown biological father. Since then, she has helped hundreds of clients uncover their roots connect with their biological family. Through her company SunriseDNA, she offers compassionate and ethical support for those navigating DNA surprises or seeking unknown parent identifications. Dawn also volunteers with Moxxy Forensics as an Investigative Genetic Genealogist (IGG), assisting in the identification of unknown individuals in law enforcement cold cases.

Dawn will be sharing three interesting but very different stories solved with genetic genealogy: one involving an unknown father mystery with multiple unexpected twists, another detailing the recent identification of a John Doe, and a third highlighting how she uncovered the identity of her own great-grandfather’s unknown biological father.
