Self-defense training helped me survive an attack. Not the fighting part, but the thinking part.
Our class includes lecture on how to think smart, decision making skills, and awareness with self-defense and empowerment in mind.
Then we work on practical applications and practice how to use them. To be prepared in case of attack, you need practice, practice, practice. We will work on releases, how to get away from a grab, a choke, if pushed to the ground.... etc. We will work on strikes – how and where. Practice will make the techniques you learn second nature and the reaction to an attack quicker.
The class will end with a mock attack so you can practice everything you learned.
Please bring your own water bottle. If you have yoga socks (or any socks with rubber grippy bottoms) you may wear those; otherwise, you’ll be barefoot on the mat. Street shoes are not allowed on the mat.
