PHILLIPS 66 SAN FRANCISCO REFINERY PROVIDES MAJOR DONATION TO MONUMENT CRISIS CENTER’S COVID-19 RELIEF EFFORTS
The Phillips 66 San Francisco Refinery announces a $50,000 donation to Monument Crisis Center, who has been on the front lines of the COVID-19 response for months. Funds will be used to provide services to all those in need at Monument Crisis Center such as nutritious food, basic necessities including toiletries and baby diapers; resources, referrals, and information for health, legal, shelter, public benefits and unemployment assistance, for the growing number of out-of-work individuals due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
“These are difficult times, and while we are prioritizing the health and safety of our employees, we also need to be responsive to the needs of our communities in which we operate,” said Refinery General Manager Carl Perkins. “We are hopeful that these contributions will help our neighbors that may be struggling during these trying times.” The refinery's donation is part of a previously announced $3 million commitment from Phillips 66 to support front-line organizations that are responding to the pandemic efforts, including first responders, food banks, health care, and other organizations serving the most vulnerable populations.
“We are so honored and thankful for this very generous donation and we feel very lucky to have such caring partners in the community. The financial support from Phillips 66 will allow us to assist so many additional clients during this unprecedented crisis. We need to be mindful that many of our neighbors are really hurting right now.” said Sandra Scherer, Executive Director. “In addition, our numbers have tripled in the last month and the demand continues to increase and so donations like this and those from the community mean the world to us and to those that we are supporting.” We encourage those who are able to consider a gift to visit www.monumentcrisiscenter.org
or text MCC to 41-444.
