    Job Description

    DESCRIPTION

    We're hiring in our Oncology division of our multi-specialty medical practice for a Medical Assistant at our Pleasant Hill office. If you have 1-2 years experience as a clinical/back office Medical Assistant with a warm friendly personality and enjoying working in a fast paced busy office while staying focused around distractions than this is the right position for you. The candidate will achieve thoroughness and accuracy when juggliing multiple tasks and will assist physicians and nurse practitioners/PA in order to provide the highest quality of care to the patients. Travel or float is required to all satellite locations weekly as needed and ability to work shifts between the hours of 7am to 7pm.

    • Greet patients and displays a positive customer service attitude
    • Place patients in exam rooms; take vital signs and weight; confirms and updates current medication lists, and allergies
    • Set up and assist with medical procedures (Bone Marrow Biopsies/lumbar punctures/skin biopsies and any other procedure necessary for care of patient)
    • Delivers messages and lab results to physicians and NPs/PA, distributes physician paperwork to other departments
    • Maintain and restock supplies in exam rooms, keeps exam rooms clean and orderly
    • Answer phone calls from patients regarding medical concerns, takes messages, sends QCL’s to appropriate provider
    • Chart prep and assessments daily 2 days in advance, and review daily; administer and chart for injections
    • Provide cross coverage and support to other departments; cover and back-up team

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Completion of Medical Assistant program
    • 1-2 years of related work experience as a clinical/back office MA
    • Ability to type 40 WPM
    • Experience with EMR systems such as Mosaiq or EPIC
    • Experience with administering IM glute and SQ injections following infection control and safety guidelines
    • Current CPR/BLS certification
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
    • Computer proficient: must be able to work with multiple programs, software, and websites simultaneously
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients and employees of the organization
    • Ability to build rapport with patients to deliver exceptional direct patient care
    • Must have reliable automobile transportation and maintain a valid California Driver's License and insurance
