Eliane Elias
Grammy winning artist and #1 artist on several Jazz and Brazilian music charts, she started studying piano at age 7, and at age 12 was transcribing solos from jazz masters. She attended the Juilliard School of Music in NY. Her first album was a collaboration with Randy Brecker entitled “Amanda” in 1984. Her album with Herbie Hancock, “Solos and Duets” in 1985, was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Solo Performance. She recorded 2 albums dedicated to Antonio Carlos Jobim. In September 2011, her song “What About the Heart (Bate Bate)” was nominated for a Latin Grammy. Her Grammy winning 2015 album, “Made in Brazil” is followed by her “Dance of Time”(2017) album, which debuted at #1 on two Billboard Charts, Jazz and World Music. Her current husband is Marc Johnson, who plays bass in her band.

At the Lesher Center for the Arts located at 1601 Civic Drive in Walnut Creek. Concerts take place in the 300 seat Margaret Lesher Theatre.
