Sabio\, MSW\, LCSW\n\n\n\nAnna Sabio emigrated with her parents and older sister from the Philippines to the San Francisco Bay Area\, was raised in the East Bay and shares roots with many John Muir patients and staff. In this community she found her love of ballet\, education\, and social justice. She went on to graduate from University of California at Irvine with two Bachelor's Degrees: Psychology and International Studies. Her love of dance and social justice transformed into mindful yoga and Social Work. With this in mind\, she was encouraged by her professors to pursue her Masters in Social Work\, which she achieved from New York University. In New York\, she worked with the dual diagnosis population at Weill Cornell Medical College /New York-Presbyterian Hospital. There\, she went on to obtain her LMSW and LCSW and managed a bustling private practice along with her work in The Weill Cornell Public Health Department's outpatient program. She found her passion in trauma-informed care and trained in EMDR. After almost 10 years in New York\, she moved back to the East Bay in California with her new family and dedicated her career to acute psychiatric care.
