Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano
- Food Assistance
- Non-Profit Organization
The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano works to end hunger and increase access to nutritious food for low-income individuals and families through a comprehensive group of programs that combat hunger and its causes.
The Food Bank has been serving the community for 38 years. We provided food to 149,000 hungry people in need every month directly at community sites and through a network of 180 charitable agencies, and distributed over 18 million pounds last year, nearly half was fresh produce! The Food Bank works to reduce food waste, feed hungry people, and raise public awareness of issues related to food and hunger. The work could not get done without the help of the hundreds of volunteers that donate their time to coordinate food drives, sort and pack the food, and help distribute it to their hungry neighbors.
